Water Service
The Lima Unitarians begin a new year early in September with a Water Service.  Many Lima UU's spend much of the summer out-of-town, and are eager to see their UU friends and family, and to hear of their summer travels and adventures.

A large empty bowl sits on a pedestal in front of the congregation.  One by one, as they are moved, members move to the front, bringing a container of water from a very special place they have visited during the summer.   Perhaps the Pacific Ocean, perhaps Austria, perhaps a lake in Minnesota.

As the water is poured into the bowl, the member relates the story of her/his summer, and the special nature of the place where the water was gathered.  The tale may recount a family reunion, a new travel spot discovered, a point of particular beauty, or a special family moment.

As the waters blend in the bowl, individual UU's rejoin and reconnect with other members, joining their stories, and forming once again the vital congregation which is the Lima UU Fellowship.

    Celebrating the principles.........
the worth and sacredness of each individual.........
and the web of interconnectedness that unites them all........
the ingathered water then is poured out, enlivening the broad and stately
Magnolia which shelters the Fellowship home.........

With our stories we invite Growth, and Reunion and Connection.
