The meeting was called to order at 9:05am by the only Officer in attendance, Barbara Wilson. She explained that since Adaline was absent due to mandatory overtime, she would be acting as Chairman pro tem.
She then appointed M.D. as Secretary pro tem since the Secretary was now acting Chairman.
In our eagerness to get right down to business, the reading of the minutes of the past meeting were completely overlooked.
Old Business:
Finishing of the painting of the Organic Buddies room was postponed until Nov. 5.
The Meat Supplier in Defiance that Robin had only mentioned last month was discussed. The name of the potential supplier is C/J Natural Meats.
Robin asked that the six dollar catalog fee be taken out of the credit that she has, which should be sufficient to cover same.
Meeting Reminders were discussed once again - since no phone calls were made again this month. Robin renewed her offer to assume that task.
New Business:
It was noted that Aimee & Robin are STILL not getting their monthly catalogs.
Robin suggested that it might be a good idea to have a “Welcome/Information” sheet to give to new members. Email distribution will be the preferred method. Robin volunteered to create this document and will present it at the next meeting.
It was noted that Ray’s Market in Eastgate Shopping Center is carrying some new organic items now.
The above immediately prompted the proposal of
1. Creation of Organic Buddies letterhead and
2. Composition of a Thank You letter for grocers that stock organic items.
Robin again volunteered to create the form and letter.
Bylaws Discussion:
Proceeded to modify the text from Article 5.1 all the way to the end of the document.. Please see the exact verbiage on the Bylaws page of the website.
Order Sharing Session:
Starting at 10:20 am, order sharing took place, with a wrap-up to the effect that the order will be placed on the 10th and delivery sometime on the 15th – as it turned out, pickup at the church was about 8:00pm.
