| Minutes of Organic Buddies–April 9, 2005 Earth Day is April 23rd from noon to around 4:00 OR 5:00. We can have a booth. Do we want one? Yes. We can put up a shelter. Adaline will make up a banner. We will put out our food with our price, the price with the 10% surcharge, and the local store price if we can find it, but we can’t sell anything there. We need to print a lot of brochures. Amy will print 30. Can we each print 30? There’s an expo May 14th from 10:00AM to 4:00PM sponsored by the Waynesfield Business Association. It’s inside, and we can have a free booth. Do we want to do this? Yes. We can sell stuff at this one, so everyone can bring their excess stuff. Also we are going to have a drawing for a basket of goodies from our catalog. Each of us should donate a few things, Adaline will make up a basket of all the items, and Amy will print up the tickets for it. Adaline will make up a banner. Since this is inside, we can’t hang the banner from the shelter, and we decided it wouldn’t show up well if we hung it from the table, so we thought we might hang it between two ladders. The banner could say, "Steps to Healthy Living" or "Building Healthy Communities One Step at a Time" or something like that. Any suggestions? If not, which do you like? We can also sell our stuff at this one–with the 10% charge for non-participants. Amy will contact someone at the mayor’s office (Kathy Garlock?) To see if we can get our meetings put on Channel 2. Adaline has already done that for the Waynesfield area. Amy looked into tax information. There are different ways of organizing–limited partnership, corporation, etc. We need to discuss what sort of legal entity we want to be. MapleCity.com has by-laws in their About Us section. Adaline will contact Toledo and Columbus for their by-laws. The next meeting will be May 7th. Orders are due to United by May 13th. Delivery is sometime after May 19th. New back-order policy–Sometimes when Adaline puts in an order, they say an item is back-ordered. So when that happens, Adaline assumes it wouldn’t be shipped. But sometimes the item comes in, and they do ship it, but they don’t tell her that the item came in. Meanwhile, since the item wasn’t in, she had subtracted that amount form our orders. Then, finding out that it was actually shipped, she had to ask for more money to cover the actual shipment instead of the expected shipment. So from now on, if an item is back-ordered, we pay for it anyway, assuming that it will come in by the time the order is shipped. If it doesn’t come in, and the order is shipped with the item still back-ordered, we will receive a check for the difference with our order. We can look at our United catalog and see the delivery calendar. Our route is NOX497 Ohio. The delivery date on the calendar is approximate. The actual delivery date can be a couple of days later. We can look at Frontier stuff on their website. Call Adaline for the ID and Password. Nureese reports that melaleuca.com has products made with tea tree oil. Meeting adjourned. Nureese will call everyone for the next meeting. She will also call Dr. Kay ten days before the next meeting, so Dr. Kay can get it in the paper. |
